Couch Potato Pro Software, CEDIA people should appreciate being able to program an 8-zone system in minutes instead of hours. Runs on Windows 95,98, ME, 2000, XP, and contains a "built in" small footprint Web Server. Couch Potato Pro works with our IR Master model Cybermate Control Unit for "stand alone" or PC operation. Operation from a remote Web Browser is built in. CD Jukebox software is also built in. Operation from your Palm OS based PDA is supported with an "Add In" package. Since Couch Potato Pro comes pre-programmed with most users basic functions, four simple setup screens will get you up and running in minutes:
Later on, you will probably wish to add to, or change some of Couch Potato's pre-programming using Couch Pro's Software programming editors:
IR Master Cybermate has a large non-volatile memory, which when downloaded, allows it to operate independently from a PC. Couch Potato Pro Software downloads the Cybermate Control Unit connected to the PC's serial port with your control data. It also builds the Palm database files needed if using a PDA as your GUI. Couch Potato uses Cybermate's RS485 port for networking multiple Cybermates in different zones. This feature allows the same triggering device (like our PDA Communication Module or your Web Browser: see HttpServer) to control the equipment in any zone without having to indicate the zone you are in or without having to change control pages. This feature also allows equipment in any zone to be controlled from any other zone where there is a Cybermate. For example, say the channel control for your TV in the pool room is controlled by a cable box in the living room. When the pool room TV is triggered to change channels, the Cybermate in the pool room will use the RS85 network to tell the Cybermate in living room change the cable box channel. Couch Potato Pro Software is the Finest and Most Powerful Touch Screen Boardroom, Home Theater and Home Automation Controller. Just keep PC connected with Couch Potato Pro Program opened. Install touch screen, proceed. The size of the Couch Potato Virtual Remote can be adjusted to either share or fill the screen for video insertion, etc. Macros are unlimited with 3-LAN sensors designed for if, why, how, where and when, then type situations. Couch Potato also has a Scheduler so that you can control things by time of day and day of the week. You can choose to use absolute time or celestial time. The Celestial Clock allows you, for example, to say turn lights on each day throughout the year 20 minutes after sun set. HttpServer and CD Jukebox are now both included with Couch Potato.

Unit, RS232 cable to your

Setup
Install the hardware: Connect Cybermate to your PC's serial port.
Install and run the Couch Potato Pro Software. Most control screens are pre-programmed with generic equipment and ready to go, once you tell the software what gear you have.
From the Main control screen that appears, select Gear Setup from the File menu. Then choose the manufacture's remotes for your TVs, Stereo, VCRs, Cable Boxes, DSS, etc. from drop down lists. You can easily learn the commands for the equipment that may not be in the lists.
At this point, you should be able to select Main control screen buttons and do basic control functions.
At some point you will want to setup your channels to do things based on channel call letters, like selecting HBO West, being able to do Sports Up & Down, etc. This makes this step is worth while. There are five possible channel database types that you may have depending up upon your gear: Digital Cable, Analog Cable, Direct TV, Dish TV, and SAT. Go to Channel Setup; click on Channel Setup under the File menu. To make assignments, simply select a channel number, like 301, then click on what's on that channel, like HBO.
Advanced setup features include using Couch Potato's Button Editor to change or add assignments from the pre-programmed ones. Writing and assigning custom macros using Couch Potato's Script Writer.
