For years the Home Control Industry has been held back for three reasons:
Network Cybermates are programmed using Couch Potato Pro set-up software and downloaded through the serial port on a standard PC (Windows 95, 98, or NT). The Network Cybermate stores infrared commands for audio and video equipment, and X-10 commands for lighting. IR and RS232 serial commands can be learned for additional audio, video, thermostat, security, advanced lighting or other special applications. Couch Potato Pro Software standard set-up takes only minutes using three sections found under the File drop-down menu. The first section, CHANNEL SET-UP, is for assigning up to 150 cable networks and local stations from a drop-down menu to a Channel list and Favorite lists. The second section, GEAR SET-UP, is for assigning audio and video equipment types from a drop down menu for up to eight zones. This section is also for assigning type of DSS, Dish or Direct TV. The third section, CD SET-UP, is for assigning up to 100 CD names from a drop down menu to a CD changer list. Couch Potato Pro Software advanced set-up has many options. The most commonly used is the BUTTON EDITOR. This lets you re-name and/or re-assign a selection in the menu screens. You can re-name "LIGHT 1" to be "FLOOR LAMP." Re-name "LIGHT 2" to be "CEILING." Re-name "CAMERA 1" to be "FRONT DOOR." Re-name "CAMERA 2" to be "GATE CAM," etc. Once you have made these desired changes, the new selection names along with the TV channels, CD names and the appropriate DSS channels automatically appear within the menu screens. The other advance options used mainly by custom installers is the Script Writer. You can write a script and assign it to a selection, like DSS. This allows you to execute steps called macros, automatically, with the push of one selection button. You select DSS in the master bedroom, The Cybermates first check to see if the TV and stereo in the bedroom and the DSS receiver in the home theatre are on, using 3-LAN current sensors, if not, the Cybermates emit the IR codes to turn them on. Then the bedroom Cybermate emits IR codes to change the TV to 85 and the stereo to Video In, and the menu on the Couch Commando Remote Control now shows the main DSS menu. When the Couch Potato Pro Software set-up is complete, select SET-UPS from the Edit, Maintenance drop-down menu. Select DOWNLOADS. Select ZONE (1) and DOWNLOAD CYBERMATE. When download is complete, unplug the PC cable and plug it into the next Cybermate, select Zone (2) and DOWNLLOAD CYBERMATE, etc. When downloading Cybermates is completed, unplug the PC cable from the last Cybermate and plug it into a Couch Commando Remote Control. Select DOWNLOAD REMOTE. When downloading is complete, unplug the PC cable from the Couch Commando and plug it into another Couch Commando and select DOWNLOAD REMOTE, etc. The downloaded Couch Commandos will now contain the new menu selections. The Couch Commando Remote Control looks exactly like the active one you program in the Couch Potato Pro touch screen Software. It has the normal remote control buttons Channel, Volume Mute, Last, and Numbers, it has a Lights button, Stereo volume and mute buttons, a main menu button and 13 selection buttons that surround an LCD menu screen. This LCD screen changes menus as different selections are made. The LCD screen menus offer every function of stock OEM remote controls that come with the equipment. Its menus include 3 TVs, 2 Stereos, 2 CD changers, 2 VCRs, C Band Sat, DVD, DAT, Cameras, plus all the Cable channels, DSS Channels, and CD s by name. Its menus include selections to control lights, security systems, thermostats, and various other devices and systems, all in one Remote Control with a simple push of a button. The stand-alone Cybermate set top box contains the control intelligence for the control of all these devices.
GOALS: Our goal is to license this technology and support to one or several manufacturers. Each Manufacturer can establish its own look and feel for our present products. Manufacturers of audio and video products can integrate Cybermate network technology in their products like receivers or digital audio/video distribution systems, network computer boxes, etc. Wanda Cybermates and Remote controls are 2-way IR, and manufacturer's products like ovens, stoves, and toasters, can communicate status with simple, inexpensive infrared circuitry. Manufacturers of blinds, windows, gates sprinklers, and other appliances might use IR or opt to integrate inexpensive addressable 3-LAN technology into their own control module circuitry. Wanda technology is the only network home automation and control system technology for retrofitting existing homes. Cybermates are stand-alone set top boxes. Set up requires a computer, after set-up, no computer required. Couch Commando Remote Control is unique. Set up is easy. Operation is simple.
